Privacy Policy
Drip N Drop is made by Akin Ventures LLC ("we", "us"). This page covers the game and this site, on every platform we run it on. We collect what the game needs to work, we don't sell it, and you can delete it.
The short version
- You can play as a guest without giving us your name or email.
- If you make an account, we store your email, your handle, your progress, your levels and your purchases.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card number.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and plays. You can turn it off with Cookie settings in the site footer or Settings › Analytics in the game.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- You can delete your account in the game at any time, or email info@dripndrop.io.
What we collect
- Guest play. When you play as a guest, the game may create an anonymous account with a random ID. It holds your progress, Droplets and purchases so they survive a reload. It has no name or email.
- Your account. If you sign up with email and password, we store your email and a protected (hashed) password. If you sign in with Google, Google sends us your email and basic profile name. We also store the handle, display name and arcade initials you choose.
- Game data. Progress and clears, scores and leaderboard entries, Versus matches, levels you save or share from the Workshop, settings, cosmetics, your Droplets balance and its history.
- Purchases. What you bought, when, the amount, and the Stripe references for the payment, any refund or dispute. Stripe collects your card and billing details directly; we only get the result.
- Usage data. If analytics is on: pages and screens you visit, game events (such as a level started or cleared), and the device, browser and rough location Google Analytics works out from your request.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider sees your IP address and browser details when you load a page, and keeps short-term logs to run and protect the service.
- Messages. If you email us, we keep the email and our reply.
How we use it
- To run the game: save your progress, sync it across devices, run leaderboards and Versus, and share levels you publish.
- To sell and deliver purchases, keep the Droplets ledger honest, and handle refunds, disputes and fraud.
- To understand how the game is played (which levels are too hard, where people stop) and make it better.
- To answer you when you write to us, and to tell you about important changes to your account.
- To keep the game fair and safe: stop cheating and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
If you're in the EU or UK, our legal bases are: running the service you asked for (contract), our legitimate interest in keeping the game working, fair and improving, your consent for analytics cookies where the law requires it, and legal obligations such as tax records.
Cookies and local storage
| name | who | what it's for | how long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor apart from another, to count visits | 13 months |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Keeps the current session together | 13 months |
| Local storage | Drip N Drop | Your saves, settings, Workshop levels, your analytics choice and your sign-in session, kept in your browser | Until you clear it or reset progress |
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you turn analytics on. Everywhere else it is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time: Cookie settings in the footer of this site, or Settings › Analytics in the game. One switch covers both, and turning it off stops the game sending analytics. Clearing your browser's site data removes local saves that aren't backed up to an account.
Ads
The game shows no ads today. This site carries the Google AdSense tag, and the game may show ads later. When it does, Google and other ad partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads and measure them. You can read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and control ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. Players who have spent $4.95 or more in total don't get forced ads. We will update this page before any new ad partner goes live.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- Account data stays until you delete your account.
- Analytics data is kept for 13 months, then deleted.
- Payment records (amount, date, Stripe references) are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account. They are unlinked from your account when you delete it.
To delete your account, open your account card in the game and choose Delete account. It erases your account, progress, cloud levels, Droplets, cosmetics and purchases on that account, and cancels any Workshop Pass. It can't be undone. Levels saved only on your device stay there until you clear them. You can also email info@dripndrop.io and we'll do it for you.
Children
Drip N Drop is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Anyone can play as a guest without telling us who they are. We don't knowingly collect personal information, such as an email address, from children under 13. If you're under 13, please don't create an account or buy anything; ask a parent first.
If you're a parent and think your child has given us personal information, email info@dripndrop.io and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email info@dripndrop.io from the address on your account (or tell us your handle), and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to check it's really you.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may also have the right to object to or restrict some uses, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Security and where data is stored
Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and each account can only read its own private data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours and will tell you if a breach affects you. We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where the law requires it, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the game or by email before it takes effect.
